Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Cook / Kitchen Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and support sushi chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. Previous restaurant experience is an asset, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, and portioning vegetables, seafood, and other food items.
- Prepare basic hot kitchen items, appetizers, soups, rice, and side dishes as assigned.
- Support sushi chefs with ingredient preparation and kitchen organization.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food storage areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools as needed.
- Receive and properly store food deliveries following food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and assist other team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen is preferred
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
