Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plumbing Supervisor to lead and oversee plumbing operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all building codes and regulations. In this role, you will manage plumbing teams, coordinate with project managers, interpret technical drawings, and ensure the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems meet high standards of quality. Your expertise in construction plumbing, code compliance, and team supervision will drive successful project outcomes while maintaining a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair activities on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Manage plumbing teams by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, providing guidance, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately execute plumbing installations aligned with design intent.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, plumbing building codes, and construction regulatory standards to guarantee legal compliance.
- Conduct site inspections to verify quality standards, identify potential issues early, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, welding apparatus, and other mechanical tools necessary for plumbing tasks.
- Collaborate with project managers to estimate construction costs related to plumbing work and assist in construction estimating processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, safety reports, inspection records, and project progress updates.
- Ensure proper maintenance and repair of plumbing systems post-installation to sustain operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety guidelines related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, HVAC integration, and other construction site hazards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction plumbing with a strong understanding of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage plumbing teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Extensive knowledge of building code analysis for local building codes related to plumbing systems.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, welding techniques, and HVAC components.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in pipe installation, remodeling projects, system maintenance & repair.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for estimating quantities and measurements on-site.
- Familiarity with construction site experience including heavy lifting practices and use of construction regulatory compliance procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving certification preferred for field service travel between sites.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
