Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnoses.
- Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, pet care, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines.
- Handle animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care procedures with precision.
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and communicate treatment plans clearly to pet owners.
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy enhances your ability to support clinical procedures effectively.
- Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency settings demonstrates your ability to work under pressure.
- Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis is preferred.
- Equine experience or dog training skills are advantageous for working with diverse species or training pets for grooming or handling tasks.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
