GEN-TECH is a full-service industrial power generation company serving Arizona, Southern Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico. For more than 35 years, we have provided generator sales, rentals, service, fueling, parts, and technical support for commercial, industrial, healthcare, utility, construction, and mission-critical customers.
As our business continues to grow, we are currently hiring two Field Service Generator Technicians for our Glendale, Arizona location:
- Power Generator Field Service Technician – Service Division
- Power Generator Field Service Technician – Rental Division
Both positions are field-based and involve diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning commercial and industrial generator systems at customer locations. Depending on the division, technicians will primarily support customer-owned equipment or our rental fleet.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning on diesel and natural gas generators ranging from 100 kW to 2 MW
- Perform load bank testing and generator performance verification
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, ATS, control systems, and paralleling switchgear
- Diagnose and repair electrical components including transfer switches, distribution equipment, transformers, voltage regulators, and control panels
- Install, commission, inspect, and prepare generators for customer use or rental deployment
- Read electrical schematics and utilize diagnostic software when required
- Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately
- Provide excellent customer service while working independently in the field
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation, overtime, and occasional travel
Preferred Experience
Experience servicing commercial or industrial generators is strongly preferred.
Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:

- MTU
- Volvo
- Marathon
- Stamford
- Deep Sea
- ComAp
- CAT ET
- Cummins Insite
- ATS systems
- Paralleling switchgear
Military generator technicians with 2–3 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with generators, diesel engines, heavy equipment, or related industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Previous field service experience
- Working knowledge of diesel, natural gas, and LP engines
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CDL is considered an asset
- Strong English communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely in field environments
