Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Regional CDL A Company Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across South East regional routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, knowledge of various trailer types, and the ability to handle load and unload operations as needed. The position offers consistent work with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight carriers.
- Drive route-specific deliveries across regional areas while adhering to schedules and safety protocols.
- Load and unload freight using Pallet Jacks if REQUIRED (DRIVER ASSIST PAY WILL BE ADDED) , per/each manual loading or unloading methods when requested by Shipper or Receiver, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery documentation.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates or issues encountered during deliveries.
- Assist with equipment maintenance or minor repairs when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness.
Experience
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable driving experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving, particularly with tractor-trailers such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, especially routes involving freight handling and load/unload procedures.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks is advantageous.
- Experience operating forklifts or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety standards in the trucking industry.
- Ability to handle various types of freight including freight requiring special handling like tanker or refrigerated loads.
