We are currently looking for qualified applicants to fill the following position: High School Music Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Generate, prepare and teach curriculum for Music. Prepare musical programs and/or concerts. Direct Choir and Band.
Essential Functions:
- Talent for communicating with children and encouraging their academic and artistic success.
- High level of patience and creativity encourage participation and love for music.
Other Duties:
- Lead group study, discussion, and demonstration.
- Develop an interesting and interactive classroom learning environment.
- Prepare materials for successful delivery of lessons.
- Motivate students to participate and engage in learning in a clean and disciplined environment.
- Guide students as they incorporate and practice the concepts presented.
- Maintain a gradebook through FACTS.
- Communicate with parents through email, phone, and in-person conferences.
- Evaluate and observe students’ musical gifts and talents.
- Direct Chapel worship, programs and concerts, which will require occasional after-school hours.
- Work effectively with colleagues and administration.
Qualifications: The Music Teacher must:
- Have a personal relationship with Christ.
- Possess a sound knowledge of music theory with an extensive understanding of the subject matter.
- Have an engaging approach, recognizing that students learn in a variety of ways.
- Be a motivator; finding creative ways to assist students in their individual learning capacities.
- Be constantly learning and developing his/her approach and skills.
- Possess a Bachelor of Science in Music Education or Performance. (Education certificate preferable)
- Demonstrate ability to work independently.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks.
- Provide PA state-mandated clearances
