Tax Accountant
Addison, Texas | North Dallas
$80,000 to $100,000
The right move now could change the next few years of your career
You may already be doing everything expected of you.
You are putting in the hours, meeting deadlines, and building solid tax experience.
But that does not always mean the role is moving your career forward.
The work may have become repetitive. Partner access may be limited. The more interesting assignments may always seem to sit one level above you. When you need proper guidance, you receive review notes rather than a real explanation.
This Tax Accountant opportunity with an established independent CPA firm in Addison offers a different kind of environment.
The firm is small enough for your work to be noticed and your development to matter. It is also established enough to provide the structure, client base, and support needed to keep progressing.
You will work closely with experienced professionals who remain involved in the daily work. You will be able to ask questions, understand the reasoning behind review points, and take on more responsibility as your confidence grows.
The result is broader exposure, stronger technical development, and a clearer sense that your effort is leading somewhere.
Why this opportunity is worth considering
You will join a smaller independent firm where you will be known for more than your charge hours.
You will have direct access to experienced leaders who can explain the thinking behind the work and help you improve.
You will gain practical experience across both individual and business tax.
You will have the opportunity to move into more complex assignments as your knowledge develops.
You will work with long standing clients in a stable, relationship focused practice.
You will be able to grow without getting lost in unnecessary layers or a large team structure.
What you will be doing
You will prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and business entities.
Your work will include Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.
You will support more complex tax assignments as your experience develops.
You will work directly with senior team members and firm leadership.
You will gain exposure to tax planning and advisory work over time.
You will build relationships with clients and become a reliable point of contact.
You may support bookkeeping or payroll related client needs when required.
You will take increasing ownership of assignments from preparation through completion.
What the firm is looking for
You will ideally have around five years or more of public accounting tax experience.
You should have experience preparing returns for both individuals and business entities.
You will want to keep learning and build a long term career in public accounting.
You should be comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and taking responsibility for your work.
You will enjoy being part of a smaller and more connected team.
A CPA, EA, or progress toward either would be helpful, but it is not essential.
Who this role could suit
This could be a strong move for someone who has built a good technical foundation but now needs broader exposure, closer guidance, and a clearer next step.
You may be in a larger firm where access to decision makers is limited.
You may be in a smaller practice where the work has become too repetitive.
You may simply feel ready to be trusted with more.
This role gives you the opportunity to keep developing without being left to work everything out alone.
Why summer is a good time to make the move
Joining during the summer gives you time to settle in properly.
You can learn how the firm operates, get to know the clients, and build confidence with the team before the fall deadlines arrive.
Instead of joining at the busiest point of the year, you can start from a position of preparation.
That can make the move feel more manageable and give you a stronger platform for the year ahead.

You do not need to match every point on paper before reaching out.
