Pacific Pattern Technologies is a small investment casting tooling facility located in McMinnville, OR. We specialize in precision tooling for the investment casting industry and are seeking a versatile Manufacturing/Design Engineer to join our team.
This role blends hands-on manufacturing with creative design work, ideal for someone who enjoys building tooling and fixtures and has experience programming for CNC machining and model development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling for wax injection, core assemblies, and fixturing used in investment casting
- Collaborate with shop floor teams to ensure tooling meets process and quality requirements
- Create and modify 3D models and technical drawings using NX CAD software
- Program CNC machines and support CAM workflows for tooling production
- Troubleshoot design and fit issues, and iterate based on production feedback
- Maintain documentation and revision control for tooling designs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and manufacturing processes
- CMM Inspect, Laser scan using Polyworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field a plus, or equivalent practical industry experience
- Experience in investment casting or precision tooling design preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, NX)
- Programming experience with CNC systems and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing, mold assembly, and fixture design
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Pay: $24.00 - $50.00 per hour
