Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food processors.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a hygienic environment at all times.
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing to support diverse dietary needs and seasonal offerings.
- Execute food production tasks such as food handling, portioning, plating, and garnishing to ensure consistency and quality.
- Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized meals following dietary guidelines and restrictions.
- Collaborate with team members during high-volume service periods to deliver prompt and excellent food service.
- Follow all food safety management protocols and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area throughout shifts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by adhering to recipe standards and providing feedback on menu items.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment, including fine dining experience preferred.
- Strong knife skills with the ability to perform various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations essential for maintaining hygiene standards.
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume production settings.
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering operations to support diverse service needs.
- Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience advantageous for specialized meal prep.
- Excellent food industry knowledge combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
