We are seeking an experienced Head Chef / Manager to lead our steakhouse kitchen. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is passionate about exceptional food, operational excellence, and building a strong, motivated team. The ideal candidate must be capable of performing every aspect of kitchen operations while leading by example.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all daily kitchen operations
- Perform all kitchen duties as needed, including prep, line cooking, grilling, sautéing, plating, and closing procedures
- Lead, train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage food ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Control food and labor costs while minimizing waste
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Develop seasonal features and menu updates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Work closely with ownership and management to deliver an outstanding guest experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct restaurant management experience is required
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager in a full-service restaurant or steakhouse preferred
- Must be able to perform all kitchen operations and step into any station when needed
- Proven leadership and team-building abilities
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices
- Experience with inventory management, food costing, labor scheduling, and budget control
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
