Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Contract Mental Health Therapist (fully licensed: LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LADC) to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in behavioral health and proficiency in evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic approaches. This role involves providing outpatient counseling services to individuals (and couples/families/groups if within your scope and preference), with a focus on promoting emotional well-being and meaningful, sustainable change. The therapist will work collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans and support positive outcomes in a supportive, ethical practice environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic impressions (within scope) to determine client needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client goals and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Provide counseling services which may include trauma-informed care, crisis support (as needed), and support for diverse identities and life experiences.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate care and collaborate with other providers when appropriate and with proper releases of information.
- Provide neurodiversity-affirming care when applicable, including support for autistic and ADHD clients, and adapt interventions to client needs.
- Uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality, and best practices in outpatient mental health treatment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Active, unrestricted Oklahoma license as LPC, LCSW (clinical), LMFT, or LADC (fully licensed—this is a contract/1099 role).
- Strong working knowledge of behavioral health principles and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Experience with trauma-informed approaches preferred; crisis intervention experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Ability to maintain consistent documentation and meet expected timelines.
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to provide in-person services in the Tulsa/Sand Springs area and/or telehealth from a private, HIPAA-appropriate setting (depending on role setup).
