The Million Veteran Program is a Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Research & Development (ORD) supported national program with VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
The Million Veteran Program (MVP) is an Office of Research and Development (ORD) funded program that establishes a national longitudinal cohort of Veterans for genetic and observational research. The Palo Alto MVP Chair Office is one of two Chair Offices that have distinct responsibilities for the overall conduct and execution of MVP. The Palo Alto Chair Office is responsible for Data Generation and Utilization and is also the Human Subjects Protection Regulatory Core for the National Program. Chair Office staff are expected to work closely with MVP Program Office Leadership in ORD, MVP recruitment sites (approximately 60), MVP Coordinating Centers (10) and Researchers approved to utilize MVP data.
The Palo Alto MVP Chair Office at VA Palo Alto is seeking a Project Manager (Health Science Specialist).
The position is a TERM appointment (13 months).
Key Duties:
· Responsible for development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and other supporting documents (SDs) utilized by core MVP staff to ensure cohesive efforts across the program.
· Serve as a project manager collaborating with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop new and revised SOPs, WIs, and other SDs in accordance with established guidelines and formatting.
· Participates in all phases of conduct of MVP Quality Manual efforts, ensuring that goals are being met within established timeframes.
· Maintains the MVP Quality Manual SharePoint site and associated tools; collaborate with the Deputy Director, Compliance & Quality Assurance to ensure all documentation is current and accurate including during periodic (e.g. annual) review.
· Coordinates with Deputy Director, Compliance & Quality Assurance to develop and manage an auditing process to ensure compliance of core MVP staff with approved procedures.
· Understands interdomain connections within and between documented procedures in detail to ensure accurate documentation is represented and consistent.
· Conducts quality assurance review of document updates including formatting, spelling/grammar, accurate and sufficient level of detail, and consideration of interdomain impact.
· Negotiates corrective actions concerning programmatic issues and basic management of the research program's quality management initiative.
· Performs qualitative analyses of procedures to identify potential risks and problematic processes.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Must be a U.S. Citizen.
· Must have at least one year of direct experience developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) directly related to processes for conducting research, creating and documenting processes to ensure research compliance, and performing quality assurance management activities, such as auditing of processes related to executing research protocols.
· Bachelor's or higher degree in a public health or scientific research-related field.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a large and diverse team.
· Strong attention to details and have good organizational skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (e.g. Excel, Word) required

Pay: $76,463.00 - $99,404.00 per year
