Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and organizing dental supplies in accordance with infection prevention management protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and assisting with patient management software to facilitate appointment scheduling and follow-up care
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to support efficient clinical operations and enhance patient experience
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, managing medical documentation, and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
- Strong knowledge of dental equipment including X-ray units, 3D scanners, dental sterilization tools, and general dental instruments
- Expertise in infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention policies and aseptic techniques
- Ability to interpret dental terminology accurately for effective communication within the team and with patients
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus for creating a friendly environment for young patients
- Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and insurance claims processing
- Excellent patient management skills combined with a professional demeanor that ensures confidentiality and comfort at all times

Pay: $25.87 - $30.00 per hour
