Tax Accountant Public HYBRID OFF SEASON
Location: WESTCHESTER COUNTY (Hybrid during Off-Season)
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000
A dynamic, multi-location public accounting firm in the Tri-State area is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing practice. This individual will play a key leadership role within the firm's corporate tax department and will be responsible for managing complex tax engagements involving corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. The ideal candidate will have substantial public accounting experience, strong technical tax expertise, and the ability to work independently while providing guidance to support staff.
Qualifications:

Public accounting experience with business, trust, and estate taxation.

Strong experience preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, and Estates.

Strong understanding of of corporate taxation, partnership taxation, trust and estate taxation, and tax compliance.

Experience reviewing, reconciling, and correcting incomplete or disorganized financial records.

Experience with multi-state taxation and Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) filings.

Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting systems.

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and client communication skills.

CPA or EA designation is not required. BUT ALWAYS HELPFUL
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the firm's corporate tax department.

Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to one or two tax staff members.

Serve as the primary resource for complex corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax matters.

Review and prepare federal and state tax returns for approximately 40 Trust & Estate entities, 40 Partnerships, 40 S Corporations, and 3 C Corporations annually.

Prepare and manage New York and Connecticut PTET filings, including quarterly estimated tax payments.

Analyze K-1s from multi-tiered entities and ensure proper state and local tax allocations.

Prepare Personal Property Tax declarations and NYC RPIE filings.

Reconcile and report payroll tax and sales tax filings.

Review, organize, reconcile, and correct client financial records maintained in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.

Provide guidance regarding tax elections, distributions, sales transactions, and other complex tax matters.

Collaborate directly with clients and team members to obtain information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.

Perform financial analysis and support tax compliance and planning activities across multiple jurisdictions, including NY, CT, NJ, MA, PA, NC, and SC.
