This position offers an opportunity to specialize in home infusion pharmacy within a controlled, patient-focused environment. The role is a contract assignment based in Philadelphia, PA, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for 8+ weeks. You will work alongside a pharmacy technician in a low-volume setting, allowing for focused attention on sterile compounding practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare customized sterile medications, including IV fluids, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques.
- Verify the accuracy and safety of all sterile preparations.
- Ensure compliance with USP and USP standards to maintain patient safety and quality.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians during preparation processes.
- Maintain and monitor cleanroom equipment to meet regulatory standards.
- Perform final inspections of compounded medications before distribution.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Pennsylvania pharmacist license.
- At least one year of recent sterile compounding experience, preferably in home infusion.
- Strong computer skills to manage electronic records and support pharmacy operations.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a low-volume, collaborative environment.
