Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for travel assignments, offering a rewarding opportunity to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Duties
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following prescribed protocols while ensuring patient safety.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform care plans.
- Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, wound suturing, and airway management.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for diverse populations, including geriatric and pediatric patients.
- Provide specialized care such as dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, hospice support, and trauma-related treatments.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate with families and caregivers to ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Engage in infection control practices and maintain sterile techniques during procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training on EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to enhance documentation efficiency.
- Respond effectively to urgent situations in emergency or urgent care environments, utilizing first aid skills and acute pain management techniques.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license in good standing; additional certifications such as BLS/CPR required.
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals (ICU, Emergency Room, Level I & II Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and medical documentation standards essential.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate record keeping.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to nursing practice.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and travel frequently between locations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions across diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to follow long-term care regulations and maintain clinical confidentiality policies.
