Our site in Spring Lake, Michigan has an immediate need for an Electrical Controls Engineer. This is an exciting, deeply involved job in the development of physical testing systems. Many of the test systems use data collection, motor drives, sensors, load scales, temperature monitors, speed traps, limit switches, ethernet, and other leading-edge components.
This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
What you will do:
- Design and build electrical systems for Schap physical test equipment
- Create and modify Autocad electrical schematics, bill of materials, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
- Write or modify PLC and HMI ladder logic programming
- Collaborate with system builders to ensure customer requirements
- Develop quotes and cost analysis for electrical designs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as NEC
- Commission and troubleshoot systems
- Become an expert in the design of physical test equipment.
What we seek:
- Mid-career candidate with proven experience in electrical engineering. Degree not required with proven electrical design experience.
- Proficiency in electrical panel layout, wiring, and component layout
- Understanding of machine building, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Programming skills in PLC ladder logic, not limited to Allen Bradley
- Knowledge of low voltage signal processing techniques and methodologies
- Understanding of electrical systems design principles and best practices
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, such as NEC
