American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

13-week travel contract in a 70-bed Level IV NICU, with a typical census of around 50 patients
-
Located within a 152-bed Level II children's hospital that is part of a larger facility with high-risk labor and delivery
-
Patient population includes premature infants down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)

Skilled procedures include respiratory support/vents (required), NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, med administration, care plans, and discharge to home

Tracheostomy experience is highly preferred but not required

All-private-room NICU with overflow responsibility for Level II Nursery feeders/growers

EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

12-hour night shifts; shift times are either 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible but rare

Floating is possible to the ER in a sitter capacity, though rare
-
No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is possible

Active WA state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand or pending (must include proof of pending license and date of application)

Current certifications: BLS and NRP

Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required

Proficiency with ventilator/respiratory support required

Travel nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers will be considered

At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be required prior to start

Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care in a high-acuity Level IV NICU setting
