Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Duties
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using advanced financial software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant standards.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and account reconciliation processes to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard organizational assets while ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit or public sector entities.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation related to regulatory reporting and financial statement audits.
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data to assist in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting concepts, including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account reconciliation procedures.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
- Expertise in financial report writing, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability in cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.
- Excellent knowledge of technical accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits management.
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements for public or non-profit organizations; familiarity with federal or state government regulations is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills combined with exceptional attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across departments to ensure sound financial practices.

Pay: $71,468.38 - $105,000.00 per year
