Job Overview
We are seeking a warm, dedicated, and enthusiastic Bakery Counter Team Member to be the face of the Marlborough Bakery & Cafe. In this role, you will be the first and last point of contact for our cherished customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing exceptional service. Candidates must be available for shifts beginning at 5:30 AM Monday-Friday.
Duties
- Greet every customer with a warm and friendly smile as they enter the bakery.
- Take customer orders accurately for baked goods, coffee, and other beverages.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of our menu items to answer questions and make personalized recommendations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding ingredients, special orders, and daily specials.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently using our Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Carefully package pastries, breads, and cakes, ensuring they are presented beautifully and securely for travel.
- Prepare and serve our full range of coffee and espresso drinks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the counter, display cases, and customer seating area.
- Restock napkins, cups, lids, and other front-of-house supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with our bakers and kitchen staff to stay informed about product availability and daily inventory.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze information and provide clear solutions to clients.
- Proficiency in data entry with attention to detail.
- Experience with cash handling is a plus.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Proficient in using office software and computerized systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
