Summary
Archer Labs is a veteran owned, small business seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining processes, with the ability to work with precision and attention to detail. Archer Labs researches, builds, and tests a range of vacuum electronic devices, high power microwave sources, pulsed power systems, related technologies. The machinist will help build, manufacture, assemble and test these systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts.
- Machining (milling, turning, etc.) on both manual and CNC machines while being able to use conversational programming and use Esprit Edge CAM
- Performs manufacturing of parts, equipment, visual, mechanical and/or electrical assembly, inspection of parts, subassemblies, completed assemblies, production processes, final inspections, and acceptance tests on internally and externally manufactured items.
- Operates machinery, may perform troubleshooting, and follows detailed inspection/test instructions.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Ensures control of product per required documentation, forms, numbering, labeling, and assessment of tightly controlled items and applicable training.
- Improves and refines existing fixtures, measurement and test equipment, methods, process steps, procedures, implementing changes as necessary. Evaluates drawings for correctness of product acceptance.
Skills
- Proficient in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills with mechanical knowledge.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining processes.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with welding is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

You Must Have
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- 3+ years of experience as a machinist, engineer, or equivalent technical manufacturing position or a Machining Degree/Certificate, such as the one from the CNM Machine Tool Technology Program or military background
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to pass a background check

- 3+ years of technical training obtained in the military/formal educational institution or equivalent technical experience.
