Job Summary
Allen Six Pack Shop Inc is seeking a Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the face of our store, providing customer service while helping customers find products that meet their needs. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and knowledgeable about retail sales practices. This position offers an opportunity to develop customer service, sales, inventory management, and retail operations skills while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a professional and welcoming manner and assist them in selecting products.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system and cash register.
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol sales regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays while rotating inventory as needed.
- Receive, unload, and organize incoming shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
- Answer customer questions regarding products, pricing, promotions, and store policies.
- Promote featured products and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payments accurately.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including balancing cash drawers and securing merchandise.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing displays.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and responsible alcohol sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily store operations.
Required Qualifications
- Current RAMP Certification (Required).
- Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately process transactions and make change.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be at least 21 years old and meet all applicable legal requirements for alcohol sales.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a liquor store, bar, restaurant, convenience store, or retail environment.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and related products.
- Experience handling cash and balancing registers.
- Experience stocking inventory and maintaining retail displays.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry cases of beer, wine, and liquor weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform general stocking duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Schedule Expectations
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Flexibility to work opening, mid-day, or closing shifts.
- Willingness to assist with additional shifts during busy periods and holidays.
