Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, nutritious, and appealing meal options
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards in a timely manner
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, and cooking appliances
- Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination
- Support food service operations by plating meals, serving residents or guests, and managing meal distribution
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to safety standards in production and sanitation protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during meal preparation and service times
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments, including food industry standards and culinary practices
- Demonstrated knife skills, slicing techniques, and proficiency in meal preparation tasks
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
