Job Title: Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS-A or LCAS-S)
Location: Hybrid (70% Virtual / 30% Community-Based, Mecklenburg County, NC)

Position Overview:
Clinicians of Mecklenburg is seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS-A or LCAS-S) to join our integrated behavioral health team. This individual will play a key role in supervising a regional team of Peer Support Specialists, while also managing a caseload of clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The position blends clinical oversight, therapeutic interventions, and case management to support client recovery and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical & Therapeutic Duties:
- Provide individual and group therapy to a diverse caseload of clients with dual diagnoses (mental health and substance use disorders).
- Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical best practices and agency standards.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and ongoing evaluations.
- Collaborate with medical providers, social workers, and other support professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise and support a team of Peer Support Specialists across a defined region.
- Conduct regular team meetings, case reviews, and individual supervision.
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based peer support practices and compliance with Medicaid and state requirements.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for peer staff.
Case Management:
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, housing, employment, and other supportive services.
- Advocate for clients within healthcare, legal, and social service systems.
- Monitor progress and update treatment goals based on client needs and outcomes.
Community & Virtual Engagement:
- Maintain regular virtual contact with clients (telehealth), while also providing in-person services as needed (approximately 30% in the community).
- Participate in outreach and engagement activities to support client retention and service continuity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active LCAS-A or LCAS-S license issued by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB).
- Valid NPI number and active NCTracks profile, demonstrating affiliation with Clinicians of Mecklenburg.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Experience in supervision and/or mentoring of Peer Support Specialists or other behavioral health professionals preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and billing practices in North Carolina.

Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Mecklenburg County.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
