Job Summary
The Program Coordinator is our AmeriCorps Member Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and managing AmeriCorps members. Member management includes training, service, support, and service project teams. The Member Coordinator works with the Program Director to ensure effective management of the program. Program management decisions are made and carried out through a teamwork process.
Responsibilities
- Coordination, case management, and monitoring of CORE members, to include: Recruitment, placement, orientation, training, goal setting, and guidance:
- Attend site visits to ensure that members are serving in compliance with guidelines.
- Help to Maintain an up-to-date Member Handbook, train and advise members in following guidelines.
- Manage member support, benefits, and prohibited activities.
- Coordinate member group training sessions and convenings. Provide and/or arrange for appropriate training and support in accordance with members' interests and needs.
- Provide support and resources for service projects/activities. Work with the Program Director to coordinate service projects.
- Maintain CORE Susquehanna website and social media with information and current program information and forms.
- Conduct outreach for programs at colleges, job fairs, and other appropriate outreach locations.
- Work with the Program Director to ensure effective host site supervision.
- Conduct member site management visits in conjunction with host site visits.
- Assist the Program Director in recordkeeping and preparing programmatic reports. Provide information concerning member development, member services, and other applicable member information.
- Assist in conducting evaluations: member assessments of trainings, pre and post member assessments, and pre and post assessments of progress toward program objectives.
- Monitor member timesheets on the web-based tracking system.
Requirements
- Experience in in social work, education, counseling, or related discipline is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written, listening, and communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgement in decision making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines with limited supervision.
- Excellent negotiation, conflict management, and customer service skills.
- A customer friendly and responsive attitude for internal and external parties.
- Excellent organizational skills, including tracking and communicating needs with multiple customers.
- Passion for the work of Community Action and ensuring equal opportunity for all people.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and utilizing online applications.
This is a 35-hour per week, full-time position. Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some non-traditional hours may be needed, primarily during the busy summer season. This position may also have the option of 1-2 days per week work from home. This position will require some travel throughout Union, Snyder, Montour, Columbia, Juniata, Northumberland, and Mifflin Counties, as well as travel for conferences and other needs throughout the year.
