Performs a variety of imaging procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Uses X-ray and CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.

- Performs all types of X-ray and CT studies to include diagnostic and interventional procedures, practices radiation safety for patients, staff and self.
- Uses sterile technique as required.
- Competently operates all X-ray/CT equipment and support systems in include HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS, teleradiology, performs and evaluates images for technical quality.
- Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation or radiofrequency burns to patients.
- Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions.
- Analyzes patient histories and completes screenings for metal, implants and devices.
- Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
Performs all quality control (QC) checks, as prescribed and maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
- Uses computerized tomography and radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from a school of radiologic technology with current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Valid state of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required. Certification in CT preferred.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
