Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, including handling tips and processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Provide exceptional guest service by addressing questions about menu items, wine pairings, or dietary restrictions with expertise in food handling, wine knowledge, and spirits experience
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for order processing and sales transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse needs professionally
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours while maintaining quality service
- Knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine pairing, and drink presentation techniques
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Experience with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Culinary experience or food industry background is a plus; familiarity with OpenTable reservations system is advantageous
