Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team for a 4 month temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data entry, answering internal/ external emails about orders/ customer returns and filing claims with shipping carriers. This role requires proficiency in various warehouse operations and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring all orders are accurately picked, packed, and labeled for delivery.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock locations.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping and receiving area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of shipments.
- Assist with inventory counts and report discrepancies as needed.
- Package products securely for shipment to prevent damage during transit.
Experience
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is preferred.
- Familiarity with e-commerce operations is a plus.
- MUST have excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in using basic math skills for inventory management and order processing.
- Experience with MRP systems or AS400 is advantageous.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
