Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to lead our dynamic hospitality team at Grand Bear Resort at Starved Rock. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining high standards of food safety, and driving profitability. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize operational efficiency, and elevate the guest experience across casual dining, fine dining, catering, and bar services. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily food and beverage operations, including restaurant, bar, catering, and banquet services
- Supervise staff training, development, and performance management to foster a high-performing team
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste using POS systems
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain rigorous food handling and sanitation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling procedures and POS reconciliation
- Conduct shift management duties such as scheduling staff, overseeing customer service excellence, and resolving guest concerns promptly
- Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction
- Implement staff training programs focused on food safety management, customer service skills, and operational procedures
- Coordinate with kitchen management to optimize food production processes and manage food costs effectively
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quick service & fast food restaurant management or casual dining with supervisory responsibilities
- Familiarity with POS systems; cash handling expertise required
- Previous experience in fine dining or hotel food service environments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing hospitality teams; experience in interviewing, hiring, and training staff
- Knowledge of food safety standards and food industry best practices
- Ability to analyze financial data related to profit & loss statements and budgeting processes
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering memorable guest experiences
- Experience managing catering operations or banquet services is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently

Salary is $65,000 + quarterly bonus.
