Duties
- Review vehicle inspection reports and collaborate with technicians to understand repair needs, including collision repair, brake repair, suspension, tire service, shocks & struts, transmissions, oil changes, and alignments
- Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to create accurate repair estimates that reflect parts, labor, and additional costs
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair recommendations, costs, and timelines to ensure transparency and build trust
- Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or preventive repairs by identifying customer needs during the estimate process
- Coordinate with the service team to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work orders
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records
- Maintain detailed documentation of all estimates, customer interactions, and repair details for future reference
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive estimating or service writing within a dealership or collision repair environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience working with auto service management systems and handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and mechanical repairs is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed
