Technical Designer, Intimates & Bras
Suite Creative Studio | Onsite 3–4 days/week | Full-Time
About Suite Creative Studio
Suite Creative Studio (SCS) is a fashion product development and sourcing studio that helps apparel brands move from creative vision to physical product. We partner with emerging and growing brands across intimates, activewear, shapewear, swimwear, and maternity, handling everything from technical design and raw material sourcing to factory compliance and patternmaking. Our clients rely on us as an extension of their team, and we're intentional about supporting founders, including those building brands in underrepresented spaces.
The Role
We're looking for a Technical Designer with solid bra and intimates construction knowledge to support fit, pattern, and construction across a portfolio of SCS clients, working under the guidance of senior team members. This is a strong opportunity for someone ready to grow their technical range and take on more ownership within a fast-paced, multi-client studio environment.
What You'll Do
- Measure and evaluate samples for fit, construction, and quality, escalating construction questions as needed
- Write and communicate detailed, precise fit comments to domestic and overseas factories
- Create and update garment specifications, including measurement specs and grading details
- Maintain and update tech packs with construction callouts and revisions
- Lead or run fit sessions and help translate fit intent into actionable factory feedback
- Schedule live fit model sessions
- Oversee pattern changes with in-house and contracted patternmakers for consistency with requested revisions
- Create grade rules for all fit-approved styles
- Track development progress and maintain WIP logs across active client accounts
- Support organization of PP and TOP samples, ensuring adherence to timelines and production milestones
- Category focus is intimates and bras, but supporting other product categories, including activewear, shapewear, swimwear, or maternity, may be necessary depending on client needs
- Communicate regularly with vendors and cross-functional team members regarding sample status and updates
What You Bring
- 3–6 years of technical design experience, with meaningful exposure to bras, intimates, or shapewear
- Working knowledge of bra construction fundamentals: banding, elastic, cup construction, and common intimates fabrications (power mesh, warp knits, flatlock seaming)
- Some patternmaking exposure, familiarity with Gerber, Optitex, CLO, or paper pattern methods is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working within tech pack documentation
- Clear, detail-oriented written and verbal communication, especially with overseas vendors
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
- Associate's degree, certification, or degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Apparel Design, Patternmaking, or a related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience
Who Thrives Here
At Suite Creative Studio, we believe expertise is something you build, and we're looking for people who genuinely enjoy that process. No job is too big or too small here: the same person negotiating a target cost in the morning might be steaming a sample by hand in the afternoon, and both matter equally. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to be involved beyond your core role. You don't need to know everything, you need to know how to figure it out. You use AI and are ready to implement it into your workflow. We're process-oriented, but we know how to creatively streamline for speed-to-market needs. If you're mentally out the door at 4:45, this probably isn't the right fit, our workload has real ebbs and flows, and we flow with it. We're meticulous, because catching a flaw before a sample or deliverable leaves your hands is always the goal.
