Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and serving meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing utensils, and cleaning food prep surfaces
- Support the dietary department by bussing tables and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Help with meal delivery to residents or patients, ensuring timely and accurate service
- Monitor inventory levels of dishware, utensils, and cleaning supplies; notify supervisors of shortages or needs
- Follow all safety regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to promote a safe environment for staff and residents
- Having an understanding of mechanical diets is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food production, serving, or culinary tasks is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities during busy meal times
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is highly desirable
- Customer service experience helps in creating a positive dining experience for residents or patients
- Experience in dietary aide roles or kitchen environments enhances your ability to succeed in this position
