Responsibilities
- Assist with the load and unload of materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by accurately picking orders with RF scanners and managing inventory through warehouse management systems.
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery to move large components safely within the yard or construction site.
- Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy materials or equipment as needed for construction or maintenance projects.
- Help coordinate warehouse distribution activities, including order picking and loading/unloading shipments efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by properly storing materials and disposing of debris according to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth workflow, proper documentation, and adherence to safety regulations such as OSHA guidelines.
Experience
- Prior experience working in warehouse distribution or construction environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks safely.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
- Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving processes including load & unload procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with construction materials or shipyard components is advantageous.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and equipment operation.
- Previous supervisory experience in warehouse or logistics settings is a plus but not required.
