Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Engineer
Pay Rate: $50.00/Hour on W2
Duration: 6+ Months contract with high possibility for extension or FTE conversion
Location: 2525 Inland Transport Street, Palmetto, FL-34221 (Onsite)
Client: Honeywell Aerospace
Shift: Monday to Friday , with flexibility to rotate work shifts – normally 50 hours per week
Description:
- As a HSE Engineer here you will be responsible for ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility within our Process Technology operations.
- You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting sustainability.
- In this role, you will impact the organization by implementing effective health, safety, and environmental programs that minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide HSE field support to all Production areas and warehouse, conduct shop floor rounds, inspections, audits and have direct and consistent interaction with the production teams
- Apply Stop Work Authority when necessary and empower / train others to apply it Integrate HSE processes and safe work practices into daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
- Deliver HSE training to new hires and existing employees
- Participate in Shift Starter / Tier 1 work shift Production meetings
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, review, update and deploy Safe Wok Procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Track HSE related actions and compliance tasks to closure using HSE Management System (MST).
- Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.
- Conduct and support incident investigations
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5 or more years of experience in HSE, with emphasis on industrial safety
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Proven ability to develop positive relationships and collaboration with Production teams to improve the safety culture
- Experience in incident investigation and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement.
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science or in a related field or High School diploma
- OSHA 30h training (certified or in progress)
- Previous field HSE experience in manufacturing or mechanical / welding construction areas
- Pro-active behavior to engage employees at all levels.
- Available to attend work shifts (according to previously negotiated schedule)
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 is a plus
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
