Summary of Position: Performs diversified duties relating to food service, including food preparation and cleaning. Follows standard practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Prepare, assembles, and serves meals and snacks according to dietary restrictions
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Handle food and kitchen equipment with care to prevent accidents or injuries
- Provide excellent customer service to clients in a rehabilitation setting
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the food service department
- Performs assignments including, serving, stocking, and cleaning
- Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Attends in-services and other meetings
- Promotes workplace safety through safe behaviors and by identifying potential risks, addressing them whenever possible and communicating those risks to appropriate individuals and or supervisors
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related field
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills, especially when interacting with clients in a rehabilitation facility
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
