Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS) Youth Therapeutic Respite Program will provide a safe, enriching environment that provides a wraparound approach to offering care coordination, family partner services, and an array of innovative therapies for youth between ages 5-17 years old with behavioral health needs. Evidence-based practices will be implemented in play therapy, sand tray therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, applied behavior analysis, brief-solution focused therapy and more. This 10-bed, 24/7 structured and therapeutic program will focus the following objectives.
- Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically diverse services that focus on reunification and development of meaningful relationships.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and accepting environment.
- Provide services and supports that stabilize, enrich, and develop skills to support effective coping, problem-solving and socialization skills.
- Connect and partner with BTCS services and/or community services, supports and other resources that will help the child and family with a successful transition to their home environment.
- To meet the above objectives, therapeutic and structured services will be provided that include educational, behavioral, and other recovery and trauma-informed focused activities. The treatment team may include Psychiatrist, and other medical providers, Mental Health Professionals, Family Partners, teachers, Care Coordinators, and Licensed Therapists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic assessment, diagnostic, crisis assessment and response, treatment planning, and service coordination to youth and their families in our Therapeutic Respite Program for Youth.
- Opportunity to collaborate on appropriate programming for youth during their stay and provides quality mental health services in group and individual settings.
- Evidence-based services will be provided in our Seguin facility or via tele-video, as appropriate.
- Counselor is part of multidisciplinary team that responds to crisis situations, safety planning, and facilitating the step down or referral to more intensive, acute treatment environments.
- Exemplary professional communication skills are key in communicating with youth, their families, and other members of the treatment team, BTCS programs, and community partners.
- Counselor will maintain licensure and participate in trainings relevant to the position.

Hourly Salary Range:
- Associate Counselor Range: $25.28 – $31.53
- Licensed Counselor Range: $32.33 – $38.58
Differential Detail:
- $1.00/hour – previous experience
- Up to $4.00/hour, tenure with BTCS
- $1.00/hour, PhD
- .75/hour, Bilingual
- .50/hour, LCDC licensure
