Store Description: The Millstone Farm Market is a small town butcher shop and farm market with a long history of serving Sunderland and the surrounding Pioneer Valley with fine meat, fresh produce, and general groceries. The Millstone is more than just a store, it’s the landmark that people travel to visit and a gathering place for those who live in the neighborhood. Job Description: The overall goal of the position is to provide an attentive and pleasant experience to the customers at the Millstone. Our deli counter offers a wide array of meat and cheese. The person in this position must be able to offer customers advice in their deli selections and serve them their orders in a friendly and timely fashion. When not helping customers, this position is also responsible for making prepared food items to stock in our self serve case. All of this is done with an eye on quality and the customer.
Duties listed in order of Priority: Assisting customers at the deli counter including slicing meats and cheese on a deli slicer, making sandwiches orders, serving soup orders, and making food recommendations; assisting customers behind the butcher counter including grabbing raw meat items from the case, weighting, and wrapping items; using house recipes to make prepared food items; portioning out pre-made deli items; keeping the deli case stocked and looking presentable; keeping work station clean throughout the day and at the end of the shift; assisting in daily cleaning tasks including but not limited to doing dishes, sweeping, mopping, wiping down cases, etc; assisting the butcher with case stocking as needed; pricing and stocking product as needed.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years customer service experience
- An outgoing personality
- Interest cooking and preparing food
Preferred skills:
- Previous deli experience
- Previous food service experience

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
