NFI North is seeking a Statewide Director of Nursing that will lead and provide oversight to Nurses at Transitional Housing and Community Residence Programs across New Hampshire. These treatment sites are known to have a progressive reputation of providing comprehensive clinical, nursing/medical, case management services and life skills to adults living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) with a co-occurring diagnosis of substance use disorder, an intellectual or developmental disability, acquired brain disorder or complex medical needs. The participants in these treatment facilities are residing in an independent home-like environment.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for collaboration with the Medical Director and Clinical Director when planning and implementing medical and psychiatric nursing referrals, intakes and transitions for program participants. This role leads and provides supervision surrounding medical decisions to site specific program nursing staff while providing ongoing consultation, education and training opportunities. The Director of Nursing ensures compliance with Federal, State, Accreditation regulations, licensing and certification requirements. This position will engage in direct medical and psychiatric nursing care, nursing assessment of program participants, medical documentation and record keeping, and medication administration. In addition, the Director of Nursing serves as a liaison between on site nurses and their Program Directors and other administrative team members. This role will be required to become certified as a “Nurse Trainer” and travel throughout the state of New Hampshire. This position has on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications: Must possess a minimum, Registered Nurse license within the State of New Hampshire. Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) preferred. Preference given to those having experience with the program population and experience providing staff supervision.
