Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Field Project Coordinator to oversee low voltage installation projects in the field. This role combines technical expertise with leadership and coordination responsibilities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to specification. The Field Project Coordinator will lead a small crew, perform copper and fiber data terminations, install low voltage devices, and serve as the primary onsite contact for customers, general contractors, and internal teams.
Technical Duties
- Run, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling, and Coax in MDF and IDF environments.
- Install and configure TVs for basic customer experience.
- Install access points, cameras, and other low voltage devices.
- Understand and help customers access basic functional usage of installed systems.
- Perform cable testing, labeling, and creating as built documentation of results.
- Provide light technical support for networking and basic equipment setup.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and support a small crew of 1–3 technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring productivity.
- Track and report material usage, completed work, remaining tasks, and job site timeline.
- Communicate daily with customers, general contractors, procurement specialist, dispatch, and scheduling.
- Ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and safety requirements.
- Receive directions from customer project managers and translate plans into field execution.
Communication & Reporting
- Report completed tasks, next steps, and timelines provided by onsite project managers.
- Communicate material needs, job progress, and potential issues to the support team.
- Maintain professional, timely communication with customers and general contractors regarding project updates and next steps.
Planning & Safety
- Assist in project planning, preparation, and execution.
- Ensure jobsite safety protocols are followed by all team members.
- Proactively identify risks and maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage/structured cabling installation.
- Skilled in copper and fiber optic data line termination and testing.
- Reading plans and communicating to team goals and expectations of project.
- Experience installing TVs, access points, and cameras.
- Familiarity with MDF/IDF layouts and structured cabling standards.
- Basic knowledge of networking equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to support a small crew.
- Excellent communication skills for customer and contractor interaction.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
