Assists with the maintenance and repairs of manholes, gravity sewers, and all other sanitary appurtenances while under the direction of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)-licensed crew members. Installs, repairs, and inspects wastewater lines; restores sidewalks, roads, and landscaping after completion of repairs. Employee will work in all kinds of weather conditions and is required to work where hazardous conditions exist. May be required to transport equipment as needed. Work is closely reviewed while in progress and upon completion through visual inspection by FDEP-licensed Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
Minimum of six (6) months of experience in general labor work.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The selected candidate for this position MUST obtain the following:
A FL Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Permit within six (6) months of hire AND- A FL Class A License within 12 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification,
- Valid FL Class A CDL with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements, and
- One (1) year of experience in the installation and repair of utility water distribution/wastewater collection systems.
