Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as examinations, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and efficiency.
- Take X-ray while adhering to safety standards and proper technique.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions to promote overall dental health.
- Perform vital signs measurement and medical documentation when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and ensure all infection control standards are strictly followed.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software applications such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing patient information and medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and comfort.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal efficiency.
- Familiarity with medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners for advanced diagnostics is advantageous.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
