ReelLove is an upcoming platform for short-form animated vertical drama series. We’re currently developing our first slate of original content for our beta and are looking for screenwriters with experience in vertical drama, microdrama, web fiction, or other highly serialized short-form storytelling.
For this project, we’re commissioning a 10-episode pilot, with each episode approximately 30–60 seconds long.
We’re primarily interested in romance and BL, as well as stories involving high-emotion, addictive tropes such as enemies to lovers, fake dating, betrayal, second-chance romance, forbidden romance, obsession, love triangles, and fantasy/sci-fi romance.
We’re looking for writers who can:
- establish compelling characters and conflict quickly
- write strong hooks and cliffhangers for very short episodes
- create emotionally intense, character-driven scenes
- understand the pacing and structure of vertical microdramas
- write natural dialogue that works well on screen
- develop an original concept or adapt an existing original concept for the format
This is intentionally a small pilot project rather than a commitment to a 60–80 episode series. We want to experiment with several concepts during our beta. If a pilot resonates with our audience, we’d be interested in working with the original writer to develop it into a full series.
Deliverables: 10 completed scripts, approximately 30–60 seconds each, plus a brief series premise/character overview.
Compensation: Paid, project-based. Please include your rate.
When applying, please send 1–3 relevant writing samples or portfolio links. Vertical drama, microdrama, romance, BL, web fiction, or serialized fiction samples are especially helpful.
We’re particularly interested in writers who genuinely enjoy internet-native storytelling and the kinds of dramatic, trope-heavy stories people can’t stop watching.
