Project Manager – Water, Fire & Mold RestorationOverview
Independent Restoration is seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial restoration projects from initial inspection through project completion. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally with customers and insurance representatives, and can effectively manage field crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in water, fire, mold, or construction restoration and possesses strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Respond to new water, fire, mold, and other property damage losses to perform initial inspections and determine project scope.
- Prepare project documentation, photographs, moisture readings, sketches, and detailed job notes.
- Develop restoration scopes of work and coordinate project timelines from start to finish.
- Schedule and manage field technicians, subcontractors, and specialty vendors.
- Conduct daily job site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Communicate with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, and insurance carriers throughout the project.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with IICRC standards and company procedures.
- Oversee water mitigation, demolition, mold remediation, fire damage cleaning, drying equipment placement, and reconstruction coordination.
- Monitor drying progress using moisture meters and thermal imaging equipment while making adjustments to drying plans as necessary.
- Order materials and coordinate equipment deliveries to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Review labor hours, project costs, and material usage to help maintain profitability.
- Complete daily project updates, documentation, and final job records.
- Address customer concerns promptly while maintaining exceptional customer service.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Assist with emergency after-hours and weekend response on an on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, mitigation, or project management preferred.
- Knowledge of water, fire, mold, and sewage mitigation practices.
- Familiarity with IICRC standards is preferred (WRT, ASD, AMRT certifications are a plus).
- Experience using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and drying equipment.
- Ability to read estimates, sketches, floor plans, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Xactimate, DASH, Encircle, MICA, or similar restoration software is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and mobile technology.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various environmental conditions when required.
