ob Description
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to provide in-home support for our 10 year old son with Down syndrome. This role combines elements of nanny care, personal care assistance (PCA), and play-based developmental support.
The ideal candidate enjoys working one-on-one with children, is imaginative and creative with play, is patient and engaging, and is comfortable supporting daily routines while encouraging learning and independence.
Responsibilities
- Engage the child in play-based learning and activities
- Support daily routines such as dressing, hygiene, meals, and transitions
- Encourage communication, interaction, and developmental skills
- Provide calm and supportive guidance when the child becomes frustrated
- Maintain a safe, positive, and structured environment
- Communicate with parents about the child’s activities and progress
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (childcare, nannying, PCA, behavioral support, education, etc.) preferred
- Experience with developmental delays or special needs is a plus
- Patient, dependable, and attentive
- Comfortable working in a home setting
- Reliable transportation
Schedule
Schedule includes weekday and/or weekend hours depending on availability. Flexibility is helpful.
Compensation
Hourly pay based on experience.
