Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Kansas Board of Regents invites applications for the position of Business Intelligence Analyst. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state's six public universities and the statewide coordinating board for Kansas public higher education institutions.
The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a member of a statewide data and reporting team supporting postsecondary education data systems. The position assists with data collection, reporting, systems analysis, business intelligence reporting, technical specifications, testing activities, project coordination, training, documentation, and related technical functions. Success in this role requires the ability to analyze and communicate complex technical information, collaborate with institutional stakeholders, and support large-scale reporting and data management activities.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Support statewide data collection and statutory reporting activities.

Perform systems analysis and recommend database structures and reporting solutions.

Write and maintain SQL queries and reporting processes.

Develop internal and public-facing reports, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Produce standard, ad hoc, trend, and analytical reports.

Review datasets and reports for accuracy and data quality concerns.
-
Draft technical specifications and participate in testing system modifications.
-
Develop technical documentation, training materials, and desk aids.
-
Coordinate assigned projects and maintain project documentation.

Support compliance, privacy, access management, and data confidentiality requirements.

Licensing & Certification: None Required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience working with relational database systems and concepts.

Two or more years of experience or education using query languages such as SQL or SAS.

Ability to analyze data reporting needs and support related systems.

Ability to comprehend complex materials and work independently toward assigned objectives.

Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
-
Willingness to travel occasionally within and outside the state of Kansas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.

Experience developing reports using Power BI, WebFOCUS, SAS, or similar business intelligence software.
-
Experience working with large-scale data systems or modern data technologies.

Experience using HTML, JavaScript, or similar web technologies.
-
Experience working in a higher education environment.
