The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing precise and efficient tool path programs using Mastercam for CNC machining operations. This individual will work closely with engineering, die making, die assembly, and operations personnel to ensure high-quality machining of complex components and tooling. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong Mastercam programming skills, a solid understanding of machining principles, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties:
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam
- Work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Die Making, Die Assembly, and Operations teams to achieve plant objectives.
- Participate in APQP and PPAP processes for new product introductions or process changes.
- Maintain organized records of programs, setups, revisions, and associated documentation.
- Support new tooling development, revisions, and R&D machining as required.
- Provide feedback on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) to engineering and design teams.
- Assist in troubleshooting and refining existing programs for improved performance or quality.
- Stay current on Mastercam updates, machining best practices, and tooling innovations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management based on business needs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to develop accurate machining paths.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and geometry to optimize process and machines.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and toolmakers to ensure tooling is manufactured to spec and meets quality standards.
- Simulate programs and verify tool paths before release to the floor to prevent machine or tool damage.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Mastercam with demonstrated experience creating complex 3D tool paths.
- Solidworks experience preferrred.
- Solid understanding of machining processes, including milling, drilling, turning and tapping.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
- Familiarity with CNC controls and post-processors, preferably for Okuma, Fanuc, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to high-quality standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage time and priorities across multiple active projects.
- Basic knowledge of tool steels, coatings, and heat treatment processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAM file management, version control, and ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, CNC Programming, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience programming in Mastercam for CNC milling applications.
- Experience in a forging, tooling, or heavy industrial environment is a plus.
- On-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for candidates with strong Mastercam expertise.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday from 5am to 3pm
