Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive curriculum focused on automotive diagnostics, repair, autobody techniques, and related mechanical skills.
- Lead classroom instruction with a focus on hands-on training in automotive systems, welding, electrical work, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, and manufacturing processes.
- Supervise students during practical exercises in automotive repair bays, autobody shops, and maintenance workshops to ensure safety and skill development.
- Incorporate industry standards such as OSHA regulations into lesson plans to promote safe working environments.
- Assess student progress through evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and maintain detailed records of performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve curriculum content, integrating emerging technologies like automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair, autobody work.
- Prior classroom experience teaching background preferred; ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to high school students.
- Knowledge of industry standards including OSHA safety protocols and curriculum development best practices.
- Familiarity with technical tools such as ProgrammableBlackboard learning platforms, and diagnostic software.
- Mechanical knowledge across manufacturing, construction, air conditioning systems, HVAC applications, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage classroom activities while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Certification or licensing in automotive repair or related trades is advantageous; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held.
