American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Wilmington, NC.

Work split between two hospital campuses: Thursday and Friday shifts at the orthopedic hospital, and Saturday shifts at the main facility

Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatrics is preferred

Procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral MR, spin echo imaging, surface coils, T1/T2, and CINE; chest imaging and image post-processing experience is preferred

GE and Siemens MRI equipment used

Epic EMR used for documentation

Schedule includes day shifts (3x12, 10:30 AM–10:30 PM) and a night shift (3x12, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM) per the posted rotation (Thu/Fri days, Sat nights)

No on-call requirement

Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required

Current BLS and ARRT certification required

Active state license required if applicable

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Must be available for full orientation week with no other commitments

Two manager or supervisor references from within the past 2 years required (pending references at time of consideration are acceptable, but must be provided prior to start)

Must be able to work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations

Orientation is held Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM during the first week; missing any portion may result in a delayed or canceled start

Approximately 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules are required and must be completed before the assignment begins
-
No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved for non-holiday periods thereafter

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and could be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Royal blue scrubs are required

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced rate

Former permanent, PRN, or EP employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required

Travel pairs are permitted, but each traveler must have their own transportation and be agreeable to potentially different schedules
