Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently to minimize wait times
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and coordinate seating arrangements seamlessly
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing accurate information and taking reservations as needed
- Maintain organized guest flow by coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover
- Use restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track seating and reservations accurately
- Uphold food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness in the host area and adhering to hygiene protocols
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions, assisting with special requests, and fostering positive guest relations
Experience
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service background preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-first attitude are essential
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and POS systems such as Toast POS
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction, are vital for success in this role
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, guest counts, and table allocations confidently
- Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction
