Bryant University seeks an experienced electrician to join the Facilities Department. This is a full time position with excellent benefits.
Principal Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performance of all work related to the maintenance, repair and operation of the electrical distribution systems throughout the campus, including maintenance, installation and repair of mechanically or electrically powered equipment, lighting, all voltage distribution systems including low voltage, electronic equipment, sound transmission equipment, computer system and accessories, and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the electrical trade and a valid Electrician’s License (Journeyman) from the State of Rhode Island. This position requires the ability to work in awkward, uncomfortable positions such as, stooping, bending, kneeling, standing and stretching for extended periods of time. This position requires the ability to work on, or from, ladders, scaffolding, and platforms; and, requires the physical strength and ability for lifting, carrying and positioning of equipment. A valid driver’s license is also required. This position is subject to a pre-employment physical examination, criminal background check and division of motor vehicles check.

Position requires working in awkward, uncomfortable positions such as, kneeling, bending, stooping and stretching for long periods of time. Requires working on or from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms; requires physical strength in lifting (up to 75 pounds), carrying and positioning of equipment and supplies.

Work Hours
Year-round 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm) Monday – Friday. The position will have rotational on-call responsibilities.
